Tunisia’s esports team demonstrated commendable skill and determination at the recent Mediterranean Esports Games held in Bar Montenegro, competing fiercely against a strong international field across multiple stages of the tournament. The event not only showcased Tunisia’s growing competitiveness in the esports arena but also provided valuable exposure and experience for its players on an international platform.

Tunisia’s Campaign at MEG 2026

Safwen Hajri emerged as the standout athlete for Tunisia during the competition. He delivered an impressive performance in the group stage, finishing at the top of his group with decisive victories over Slovenia, Albania, and Croatia. This strong showing earned him a spot in the quarter-finals, marking a significant achievement for the Tunisian squad. Despite his eventual 2–0 defeat to France in the quarter-finals, Hajri’s run was a highlight of Tunisia’s campaign and underscored his potential as a leading esports competitor.

Mahdi Bedoui also contributed solidly during the group stage, displaying consistency in his gameplay. With a record of two wins, one loss, and two draws, Bedoui secured a respectable Top 4 finish in his group. Although this was not sufficient to advance to the knockout rounds, his performance reflected a competitive spirit and resilience against tough opponents.

Chahine Turki faced a challenging single-elimination match against Aleksandar Miletic from Serbia. Despite a determined effort, Turki was defeated 3–1 and consequently eliminated from the tournament. His participation, however, added depth to the Tunisian presence and provided important competitive experience.

Unfortunately, Siwar Mejri was unable to participate in the games due to personal reasons, which was a setback for the team.

Tunisia’s esports team made a notable impression at the Mediterranean Esports Games, with Safwen Hajri’s strong group-stage dominance and quarter-final qualification standing out as key moments. While the team faced tough competition and mixed results overall, the tournament served as an important step in the ongoing development and international exposure of Tunisian esports talent. The experience gained here is expected to contribute positively to the future growth and success of Tunisia’s esports athletes on the global stage.
